Tambobong White Beach is located in a remote, secluded fishing village in Dasol, Pangsinan, here in the Philippines. It is a quaint, small, family-run resort right at the heart of Tambabong Beach (white beach, clear waters, ideal for sailing ).
I had the chance to visit this place a couple of months right after summer this year.
As always,
Lakwatsera arranged for everything.
Travel time from Manila to Alminos, Pangasinan is around 3 to 4 hours. We took a bus ride from the Victory Liner Bus Station in Cubao at around 12- 1am , and by 4am, we were at the Alaminos Victory Liner Bus Station in Pangasinan. We wanted to be at the Tambobong White Beach by 7am, at the earliest.
After spending more than one hour around Alaminos bus station, we finally boarded an Olongapo-bound Victory Liner bus. We had no idea where we were headed, exactly. All Lakwatsera did was instruct the bus conductor to drop us off Burgos Market, in Burgos, Pangasinan. In less than an hour, we found ourselves in Burgos Market. The Market was still closed. After a light breakfast on a nearby carinderia we approached a small group of tricycle drivers, and asked one of them to bring us to Tambobong White Beach. Fare from Burgos Market to Tambobong is 300 pesos. We were suspicious, at first, but that is the standard fare. The 1 hour ride from Burgos Market to Tambobong beach will take you to a series of, smoothly-paved, and most of the time, rough-and-rocky, roads. By 8am, we were at the Tambobong White Beach. We contracted the driver to pick us up the next day, after Lunch. He agreed.

We were welcomed by the very accomodating, Nanay Benilda(owner). What made this place unforgettable, for me, is the way we were treated.
We felt at home right from the get go. We didn't feel like ordinary tourists or customers of the resort. Our hostess made us feel like we were special guests visiting family.
Tambobong beach is not the typical commercialized white sand beach you'll find in the Philippines. The surrounding village is very quiet. You can roam around the beach area as long as you want without being bugged by locals selling souvenirs. The amenities are simple and basic. Tambobong White Beach may not be at par with other resorts or white sand beaches when it comes to amenities or vacation related services, but privacy, peace and quiet, a good host and kind people make this one of the most unforgettable places I've visited, so far.
We got ourselves a fully air-conditioned room for 1,500 pesos/night/ two persons, but the room can accommodate more than 2 pax. Bathroom and comfort room are communal.
Tambobong White Beach also has a non-aircon room (kubo/communal bathroom and comfort room) at 800 pesos/night/2 persons, and, for larger groups, 10 to 15 persons, a house with kitchen, living room and CR for 4,500./night.
The room we stayed at had a sofa, queen size bed; and right outside, a dining table and sala. This is a pretty good mid-range accommodation. The only downside is that the communal bathroom and CR do not have running water. Water is fetch from a water well-pump (by the staff ) and stored in water buckets inside the bathroom and CR.
Just a short side note to this post: I consider this one of my most memorable travel not only because of the place itself, but also because of the person I travel with. Lakwatsera and I have known each other for more than 10 years and I really treasure travels like these because there's always possibility it might be the last.
I admire people who do solo travels or people who love travelling with different people each time. I will probably do that someday but I know that traveling without her will never be the same.
For the meantime, I will be treasuring moments like these while it last. I love all the places I've been to, but my favorite place of all is anywhere where Lakwatsera is.
Okay, back to the topic. The First thing we did after fixing our things and getting them settled to our room was make a
side trip to a nearby island. We made it back shortly before lunch to Tambobong beach, and explored the surrounding village.
Food at the Tambobong White Beach is fairly affordable. Nanay Benilda will cook anything you want as long as it is available. After Lakwatsera and I ate lunch, we rested a little bit and went swimming.
The beach sand directly in front of the resort is white and smooth. The water, clean and clear. But there are rough areas on the beach as well, especially the beach area not directly in front of the resort where sand is mostly made up of small pebbles and shells.
After we got tired of swimming, we rested a bit in our room and waited for sunset so we could take pictures. Unfortunately, we both fell asleep. The sun was already down when we woke up. I had no choice but to make sure I rise early the next morning to catch the sun rise.
Nanay Benilda treated us to free dinner that day. She brought us huge servings of spaghetti, sandwiches and california maki. And early that evening, she also offered to take us to Manila the next day so Lakwatsera and I didn't have to commute. She said her relatives were driving to Manila early in the morning. We, of course politely declined.
I was able to wake up early enough that morning and got my shots of the sunrise.
We had a light breakfast and explored the area a little more. It was our last day. We had to check out after lunch.
We enjoyed the entire time we were at Tambobong White Beach, and as far as accommodation is concerned, this is the best accommodation I've ever had, so far. Nanay Benilda's hospitality is the best!
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS:
Take a Victory Liner Bus to Alaminos, Pangasinan.
From Cubao Victory Liner Station to Alaminos station, fare is 347.00 pesos/pax
From Alaminos, take a jeepney or bus ride to Burgos Market. Olongpo-bound buses take this route; just ask the driver or conductor to drop you off to Burgos Market.
From Burgos Market in Burgos Pangasinan, take a tricycle ride to Tambobong beach. Fare is 300 pesos. Standard fare as of posting date. There is a jeepney ride to Tambobong as well but very seldom. Better take the tricycle ride.
Road to Tambobong Beach:
On your way home from Tambobong, unless you've contracted a tricycle to pick you up from the resort, you have no choice but to wait for the jeepney that take this route . Better ask Nanay Benilda about the time this jeepney normally passes by in front of the resort. You dont need to go back to Burgos Market on the way home. Immediately after hitting the main road from Tambobong , you can wait in front of Burgos Elementary School for jeepneys or buses which will take you back to Alaminos Bus Station.
beautiful pictures and blog about your tambobong trip. thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank You. Your Tambobong On My Mind post lead the way.
ReplyDeletethank you so much for your blog about tambobong beach! my dad will surely enjoy looking at your pics and reading your blogs. he was born and was raised in tambobong. his house is along the shoreline and there's a big chance that nanay benilda knows him. thanks again!
ReplyDelete@mikerivera2, thank you so much for visiting, I appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteHi! how much is the cost for 2D/1N stay?
ReplyDelete@nickyikayerz, we paid 1,500 Php. for a fully AC room( 2persons) on our 2D1N stay at Tambobong White Beach. You need to have a separate budget for the food. We were the only guests, at the time, so I expect the resort to charge slightly higher during its peak season (summer months).
ReplyDeletehi lakwatsero...
ReplyDeleteI was there late last month, and we are planning to head back next week. Is your accomodation with Matabang or with the Donato's? We took a transient home the last time, but the people im going with this time might need a resort type lodging :-(.
BTW, just to add, for commuters, here's for saving P300 for the trike.
Jeepney Schedules going to Tambobong are as follows:
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays – in Alaminos
Tuesdays and Fridays – Dasol Town Proper
Thursdays and Sundays – Burgos Town Proper
i got some more details posted on limbonisku.blogspot.com
@ianisme,sorry about the delayed response, our host when went to tambobong white beach was Nanay Benilda Donato. If you wuld like to get in touch with her you can try this no.--09105641382. By the way, thank you for the additional info.
ReplyDeleteThis place is nice. Thanks for providing all the infos that we need to go to this place. My whole family will surely love this place. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lakwatsero
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your experience in Tambobong. It is really a must-visit place. I had just been there 3 days ago and I can't wait to go back:D
you're welcome. I'm glad you were able to visit the place too.
DeleteWow I love the first photo!!! My mom is from pangasinan Tagal ko din dyan tumira sa dagupan kaso Di ko pa napuntahan ang dasol... Hehe.. Andami kasing magagandang Dagat sa pangasinan.. Hope to explore more too!
ReplyDeleteI am originally from Pangasinan, pero di pa ako nakapunta dyan sa Tambobong. Matagal ko nang pinaplano, pero hindi matuloy-tuloy hehe. Thanks for featuring this part of Dasol :D
ReplyDeleteThat first image is so fantastic! Speaking of white sand, in ako dyan.
ReplyDeleteMalapit po ba yan sa Our Lady of Manaoag?
ReplyDeleteMedyo malayo. 1st District lang ng Pangasinan and Dasol, near Zambales, while, Our Lady of Manaoag is in Manaoag which is in the 4th District na.
Deleteplease help need the website of tambobong tnx
ReplyDeleteThis resort where we stayed at does not have a website.
DeleteHi Lakwatsero
ReplyDeleteI didn't expect to be back so soon to Tambobong. I will be spending the Holy Week there:D
Btw, where will you be?
I'm the same Anonymous (Feb 14 post)
That's awesome. Kaingit naman. I will be spending Holy Week at work. Bummer!
DeleteSayang naman...
DeleteDo you organize group travels? O kaya naman do you invite people to go with you on your next lakwatsa?:D
Lawkwatsera does. But mostly for people we know. We don't really invite people, but anyone who wants to tag along can. Just holler if you wanna join us, PM me or use the contact form of this blog.
DeleteHi Lakwatsero
DeleteI was "sunburned at Culebra Island". Sounds familiar?:D
It is already my second time to visit the island but I felt like visiting it for the first time. I'm in awe of the place. It felt so good to be back there.
Thanks for sharing your story. Looking forward to more Lakwatsero adventures (to unfamiliar places).
Hi Lakwatsero
DeleteSpending the Holy Week in Nepal is much more interesting than spending it at work...
That is so true. :(
DeleteHi Lakwatsera,
ReplyDeleteHow about if we bought our own car is it advisable?
I wouldn't say advisable. But bringing your own vehicle is fine, I guess, especially kung makakatipid kayo. I am not sure if the entire road leading to Tambobong beach has been fully paved. The last time we were there, there were long stretches of rough roads pa.
DeleteUntil now. Rough road parin siya. Pero kung okay naman yung wheels mo pang rough road, why not?
Deletemagkano po ung entrance jan?
ReplyDeleteThis is a public beach. The beach itself has no entrance fee, pero syempre pagpupunta ka dyan you need a resort to stay at. You only need to pay for the accommodation.
Deletepupunta kami dito but we will be staying sa villa balinmanok! fully booked na sila Nanay Benilda. sayang! but i am sooo excited. alis kami mamaya :)
ReplyDeleteHave FUN!
DeleteHi Im Ogie from villa balinmanok...did you visit our place? That's good to know. :)
DeleteSir lakwatsero, can you please give me your number? Punta po kasi kami dun sa sunday, and kailangan ko po ng complete instructions regarding the tambobong beach resort :)
DeleteDi po kasi nagrereply si nanay benilda, d rin po sya ma'contact :(
Salamat po!

DeleteHi JaniceEM,
DeleteThanks for dropping by our site and sorry for the delayed response. I would not advice for a day tour at Tambobong since the place is really far-off and you need more than a day to enjoy the place :)
HI Lakwatsero!
ReplyDeleteWould you know if they have available room for 5?
and how much if we are gonna spend for about 3 days and 2 nights?
Resort seems cool and rates are appealling as what have posted..
just want to know more details regarding the rates since you mentioned in this trail that TABOMBONG don't have website to visit..
thanks!
Hi Anonymous,
DeleteSorry for the late response. I hope you were able to push through with your trip. Better ask Nanay Benilda for the rates :)

ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous,
DeleteThanks for dropping by. If you want a white sand beach and a pool resort as well, better visit Patar at Bolinao Pangasinan :)
Hi po. Gusto namin magpunta dyan with my officemates. Ano po ang resort na pwede? do we need to have a reservation? For 20pax po. thanks :)
ReplyDeleteHi kathryn0916,
DeleteThanks for dropping by. Nanay Benilda's resort can accommodate 20pax (I think). Another resort in Tambobong is Matabang Beach Resort but I can't say much about the resort since we never stayed there while we were at Tambabong :)
Is the road going to tambobong still rough? I'm planning to go there by next week. Thank you for the replies
ReplyDeletethanks for the information sir. it was of great help. looking forward to visiting this place. on saturday perhaps. really too soon. hehe. :))
ReplyDeleteHi Lakwatsero,
ReplyDeletewe're planning to go there last week of may..
i got to talk with nanay benilda a while ago, she sound so kind..so approachable
may i ask if there's other island/s we can visit aside from "snake island"?
Hi Anonymous,
DeleteThanks for dropping by our site. As far as I know, besides snake there is crocodile island and kabakungan cave and pool. We were able to pass by this island on our way back from snake island.
thanks lakwatsera!
Deleteso great having this blog posted and accidentally view it..
this is such a helpful thing..
we'll be there at friday..thanks again!!!
hi! We've already been to rock garden, bolinao just last month. but we're planning to maximize the last of summer. how long would the trip be from malolos, bulacan to tambobong? just an approximate would do...the trip to bolinao was too long and kinda boring..but the place was okay...ofcourse a better adventure is something that we hope for. please advise. would the same rates you posted apply? we are around 8-10 pax, planning on overnyt stay and we prefer a/c room with own cr. it would help if we know how much to allot for budget. Thanks!
ReplyDeletenice review! may name na pala ang resort na yan. been there years ago for my honeymoon. ganda talaga, they even let you cook whatever is the day's catch. hmmm.. time to go back and make new memories less the exhubby. hahaha :)
ReplyDeleteHi, gusto sana naming pumunta sa tabobong , sino pwede kausapin regarding sa accomodation? how much pag day tour package if ever magustuhan namin we can stay there for 2 nights and 3days.
ReplyDeleteSagarin mo ang summer mo... try mo Villa Balinmanok..from google search villa balinmanok
ReplyDeletewe are 15 person and we need an afordable house for 3 days, can i know how much is it?
ReplyDeletethank you Lakwatsera for visiting our place , Tambobong .. I appreciate very much all the good praises you said here about the place.. Maganda mag overnight sa Culebra Island that is if wala na yung mga sea snakes (TUGASI) dun. And if there are snakes pa , wow its very exciting staying there overnight .. tatabihan ka lang naman or dadaan sila sa katawan mo .. Benilda and I are best of friends since childhood and yes she is really kind a woman and her husband Ferdinand too .. at maasikaso sila sa mga bisita .. Visit our place at di kayo magsisisi ..

ReplyDeletewere from tarlac my friends and i planning to go in tambobong beach by this comming oct. how much it cost? and pls. can i get the no. of the said beach to do the reservation process?
Hi Mr. Lakwatsero...
ReplyDeleteMe and my Wife will be going there this Oct 28 on the same year. Plan kasi namin na mag dala ng wheels.. 4/d sedan actually.. Do you think that we can make it sa Tambobong without having any problem sa road? please response asap.. salamat!
Nope. I do not think the road will be a problem. There are rough roads, but nothing your 4/d couldn't handle. Nagsisi nga kami kasi di kami nagdala sasakyan. Kaya naman pala.
ReplyDeleteby the way, do you have any contact number of the lodging you stayed at? Pwede ba walk in na lang?
ReplyDeletehello! posible po ba na magdala ng tent para dun nalang mag stay for a night? thank you po :)
ReplyDeletepossible, po. Especially, if the place is fully-booked. Some visitors usually bring their own tents.
DeleteHi! We're planning to go to Dasol next month. Should we take the trip from cubao-alaminos-olongapo-tambobong or can we just ride a bus from cubao going directly to olongapo to tambobong, or its a different thing? Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteOn the other side of the Dasol bay by the highway going to Zambales, lots of beach resorts that offer accommodation and just rent a motor boat to go to Tambobong beach during the day and tour around the bay going to Camaso Island (snake island)
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are breath-taking. I am so excited. We're planning to go there from February 28 to March 2. :)
ReplyDeletedo you think kaya ng van magtravel sa rough road ng tambobong, hindi ba masira ang van hindi sya 4wheel drive?
ReplyDeleteKaya naman ng 2wd na van.. Manageable naman yung road kahit may rough na part.
Deletecan any one mail me the reservation number and who can i contact with? good for 20 pax for mar.28 ty very appreciated. email me: fjason1@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteroom rates please!! 20pax overnight :)
ReplyDeleteJust to answer some of d queries :
ReplyDeleteGoing to dasol via Alaminos is shorter by 50Km rather than via SCTEX & Olongapo then Sambales.
Road condition : improved a lot after 6 years considering that only about 50% remain rough but no more big stones.
Vehicle : Use of sedan or car will not have any problem.
Note : I have been to the area Mar 28 to Mar 30, 2013.
Salamat ng madami lakwatsero sa ad mong toh..We were able to decide on the place to hold our annual team building with just a blink of an eye coz of this blog. We super love it.
ReplyDeleteWe will be going there tomorrow!!
See you sa mga andun!!
enjoy!
Deletehi, kung galing kami ng manaoag church papunta jan gaanu p ktagal ang byahe?thanks
ReplyDeletejasz, two possible routes if you have your own vehicle.
Delete1) Quezon Hwy - 100 km, 1 hour 45 mins.
2)Urbiztondo-Lingayen Rd - 115 km, 2 hours 3 mins
I do not have an idea how long or what route it will be if through public transit.
